International English Language Test System (IELTS)

IELTS is recognized by the universities and employers in many countries including Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK and the USA. It is also by professional bodies, immigration authorities and other government agencies.
The IELTS test assesses your ability in listening, reading, writing and speaking. There are two types of IELTS: Academic and General Training. Listening and speaking are the same of both tests, but the subject matter for reading and writing sections differs depending on which test you take.
The Listening, Reading and Writing sections of all IELTS tests are completed on the same day, with no breaks in between them.
The Speaking section, however can be completed up to a week before of after the other tests. Your test center will advise.
The total test time is 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Familiarize yourself with the format of the test by reviewing the content of the test, as well as the questions and task types for each section. It is also important to read through the IELTS rules and regulations.
